Premium Fetal Horse Serum (P-FHS) is derived from the blood of the horse fetus. Cell culture laboratories use FHS for various. FHS contains undefined nutrition, growth factors as well. Therefore, it remains a wildly used supplement for cell culture. PurMa Biologics has developed and processes three main premium fetal horse serums, each specialized for certain requirements in tissue culture.

Our Serum Products

PurMa Biologics produces seven types of horse serums. The three following are considered premium:

  • PurMa™ Premium Fetal Horse Serum (P-FHS).
  • PurMa™ Ultra-Premium Fetal Horse Serum (UP-FHS).
  • PurMa™ Endotoxin Depleted Fetal Horse Serum (EDP-FHS).

PurMa™ Premium FHS

  • All three PurMaTM Premium FHS are, indeed, of USA origin.
  • We additionally sterilize FHS by gamma irradiation.
  • Have been heat inactivated.
  • PurMa Biologics vigorously analyzes all bovine and horse serums and, that results in a certificate of analysis for each Lot.

The major differences between P-FHS and UP-FHS

Over the years, we have tested and analyzed PurMa™ Premium Fetal Horse Serum (P-FHS). Please see the below table.

We routinely test every Lot and evaluate the following criteria: IgG, Total Protein, Iron, Percent Iron Saturation, Inorganic Phosphorus, Glucose, Alkaline Phosphatase,  Potassium, Albumin, Blood Urea Nitrogen, Sodium, Calcium, Chloride, Total Bilirubin, Creatinine, Gamma Globulin, , Lactate Dehydrogenase, TIBC, SGOT, SGPT.
